You will only ride as fast as you feel comfortable and one beginner rider per trek can be taken on a lead rope. The special gait “tölt” can be experienced and is very suitable for riders who would like to go a little bit faster but cannot handle a bumpy trot. We will be riding along our beautiful tidal Brooklands lagoon.

We will be riding along the Brooklands tidal lagoon, come out onto a beautiful beach on the northern shores of Christchurch and return on sandy treks through pine forest. Riders need to be able to direct and stop their horse and trot for extended periods on this ride. A gallop along the beach is optional. As we need a low or outgoing tide for this ride the departure time will vary from day to day.

We will ride along the tidal Brooklands Lagoon and enjoy a long tölt and/or canter along the beautiful beach. We will stop for a short break and snack at the beach before we return on sandy treks through pine forest.
